Christmas Market on Cathedral Square (Münsterplatz)

During the Christmas season, craftsmen with workshops in Bern and the surrounding areas display their wares in front of the church with the highest steeple in Switzerland.

There is hardly a more peaceful way to spend time in the UNESCO World Heritage site. The Old Town houses, dating from the 15th to 17th centuries, provide the wonderful and unique backdrop for the distinctive Bern Christmas markets.

The market on Cathedral Square also offers food and drink options, with various snacks and mulled wine being served in the «Märitbeizli». The white mulled wine there is rumored to be the best in the city.
