The Stockhornbahn cable car takes just 20 minutes to deliver visitors to the gorgeous mountain paradise at 7,017 feet above sea level. Whether you strap on snowshoes or follow a hiking path to discover the picturesque landscape, immerse yourself in nature while fishing, soak up the sun on the panoramic terrace, or enjoy mulled white wine and a savory fondue in an igloo, there is something to suit everyone’s taste on the Stockhorn.

The Stockhorn in summer is a mecca for hiking fans, who can trek for miles and miles on the numerous marked trails. On those really hot days we recommend a cool dip in either Oberstocken or Hinterstocken Lake. Both lakes can be reached with a short hike from the Stockhorn’s summit. Anyone looking for a few more thrills can tackle a climbing route on the Stockhorn’s limestone rockface, enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Bernese Oberland during a paragliding flight, or get a shot of adrenaline by bungee jumping into thin air from a cable car.

The Panorama Restaurant offers both delicious dishes made from local ingredients as well as a breathtaking view of the cloud-covered valley and the Alpine mountainscape of the Bernese Oberland. Keep in mind: If you don’t have time to visit the Stockhorn during the day, we can recommend the cozy “Alpine-Gloss-Dinner” Friday night fondue, or the romantic Moonlight Dinner at the Panorama Restaurant – or even an evening fondue feast in an igloo.

Fine Dining, Fun Exercise
During the summer, the “Culinary Trail” treats gourmet fans to a 3-course meal combined with a short hike from the Stockhorn summit to the halfway station. The trail leads past three restaurants, each of which serves one course of the meal. We can also recommend the «Cave Raclette» to culinary fans and adventure lovers. After a cave tour of the interior of the Stockhorn massif, a cheesy raclette feast awaits in the unforgettable atmosphere of lesser-known caves on the Cheibenhorn.
