Tourist Information on the Road
Just like Bern’s bears, our Tourist Information on the Road, too, is hibernating. In April 2023, we “I love Bern” experts and our Tourist Information on wheels will be returning to the streets of Bern’s Old City. We’ll be riding around the city on a cargo bike and stopping at Bernese monuments such as the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), the Bern Minster, and the Bern Animal Park, BearPark to provide locals as well as visitors with information and answer questions surrounding their stay in the Swiss capital. If you want to know which bar is known for local beer, which museum has an exhibition on highly relevant current topics, or which bus takes you to the university in Länggasse, for example, feel free to approach us – we’re always happy to help and share tips and recommendations.
Historic buildings, quaint alleys and impressive monuments and landmarks make up Bern’s UNESCO-listed Old City. The city has many stories to tell – and so do the guides of the various city tours. The Tourist Information helpdesks can tell you all about the exciting tours and give you the opportunity to book your spot directly. If you prefer looking up the information online, you’ll find an overview of the tours here:
The Tourist Information helpdesks sell tickets for the Konzert Theater Bern, for all Starticket.ch events and many other events such as the Night of the Museums or the Buskers street music festival. They are also the exclusive Flixbus ticket vendor. Also available: public transport tickets, train passes, fishing licences and the BERNcity gift card.
From the award-winning Museum of Communication and the legendary Museum of Natural History to the iconic Zentrum Paul Klee – the Museum Card grants you free access to the collections and special exhibitions of a wide variety of Bern’s cultural institutions. Available for 24 or 48 hours. You can purchase the Museum Card at the Tourist Information helpdesks.
Switzerland has one of the best and most expansive public transport networks in the world. Whether you want to take the bus to the BearPark, the streetcar to the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), the train to the Emmental region, the PubliBike through the Matte neighbourhood or a Flixbus to another European city – here are the links you need to find departure schedules, general information and online tickets:
From the Aare swimming bag “Bärnhard” and coupons to products from the “typisch Bern” range – take a look at everything the Tourist Information at the train station and the online shop have on offer.
