The taps in the city with the highest number of registered breweries run at full speed, pop-up bars stock their shelves with Ingwerer (a Bernese ginger liqueur) and Matte Gin, and glasses are polished for laid-back sundowners on restaurant terraces: summer in the destination Bern is about good times, relaxed days – and refreshing moments, be it at one of the public outdoor swimming pools, at one of the natural swimming spots, or even among the water jets in front of the Parliament Building!

In this season, we recommend going for a bike ride and stopping on one of Bern’s famous bridges to breathe the crisp air and enjoy the stunning view – the dancing leaves and fall colours turn the Aare and its surroundings into a picture-perfect idyll. Stroll through the quaint Old City while munching on some freshly roasted chestnuts or take a short train ride to discover the many hiking trails and golden forests in the destination Bern.
