A night at the museum: Once a year, Bern’s museums turn nocturnal and present themselves in the most magical, colourful light – an event for all culture connoisseurs and night owls.

    Tickets are available for purchase at the main station Tourist Information.For last-minute travellers, the office will remain open until 20:00 during the event.

Cultural and culinary performances and presentations in extraordinary settings and at uncommon times: With its unique attractions, Bern’s legendary Night of the Museums has long since become an integral part of the federal city’s diverse cultural scene. Thousands of night owls flock to the capital every year to enjoy exhibitions that allow an interesting peek behind the scenes of Bern’s cultural institutions. You can put together your own individual programme. Design a page for a friendship album together with your companion in the style of times gone by in the Burgerbibliothek Bern (Civil Community Library Bern) or dance to your favourite song at the Silent Disco in the Museumsquartier (Bern’s Museum Quarter)? There’s plenty of exciting options to choose from.

 

Visiting the Zytglogge (Clock Tower)

Take a look inside the century-old clock mechanism, learn all about this Bernese landmark’s history, and enjoy the view from the top floor of the tower – perfect for fans of technical masterpieces, history freaks, and panorama lovers alike.     The Zytglogge (Clock Tower) is a popular attraction, so be prepared to wait in line. Make sure you get there early on, last entry is at 1:30 am. The Museum Night Game helps to shorten the waiting time.

  • Tickets

    Tickets cost 25 francs and can be bought at the Tourist Information in Bern’s main station or directly at the participating institutions. Children and teens up to the age of 16 receive a free mini ticket. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, there’s a mobile Tourist Information at the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), from which you can also buy tickets.

    The ticket now also includes use of the Moonliner in zones 100/101.
