  • Tipp

The hiking trail is marked on the yellow signposts by a green logo with the words “Trans Swiss Trail” and the respective route number – number 2 in this case. Nonetheless, we recommend bringing a printout of the route just to be sure.

From Lützelflüh on, the route follows the left bank of the river Ilfis, past gravel banks and over suspension bridges. But don’t worry, it won’t get too hot on sunny days – the trail leads in and out of the beautiful floodplain forests, where the high trees provide cool shade. Shortly before you reach Zollbrück, you’ll have the opportunity to recharge your batteries: the picnic area is a pleasant lunch spot. When the forests thin out, you will have beautiful views of large agricultural areas and the rolling hills of the Emmental valley. There are several hydroelectric power plants on the hike with information panels explaining what is hidden inside.
