01.10.2023 Schweizer Schlössertag – Swiss Castles Day

This October, 28 Swiss castles will be opening their doors for the 8th edition of Swiss Castles Day to delight visitors of all ages with an exciting programme. The topic this year is “Animals & Mythical Creatures”.

Who knows Jegenstorf Castle? Who knows where Landshut Castle lies? And who has been to Oberhofen Castle? Every October, the National Association of Swiss Castles organizes the national Castles Day. As always, there’s a diverse programme with interactive activities and history treats.

If you love exploring castles, we especially recommend visiting the one in Thun. Plenty of “Animals and Mythical Creatures”-themed interactive entertainment as well as a show of the ensemble Dragma with tidbits from their multimedia project “Song of Beasts” await. A special highlight: the castle’s 13th-century tapestry, which depicts all kinds of animals and mythical creatures! You can find an overview for Swiss Castles Day here.
