What exactly is a Convention Bureau?

Typically, a Convention Bureau is a non-profit organization at a certain destination that is responsible for providing information about the location, supporting event planners and facilitating their access to local networks.

Convention Bureaus are subsidized, because an entire region profits from the revenues from the congress and events sector – and that goes far beyond the obvious sources such as hotel rooms, venue rents and meals (tax revenues, jobs and the local trade are also included, for example). Which is why, for the most part, the consulting and services of the Convention Bureau are free of charge. Convention Bureaus are independent and not commercially driven. That way, we can ensure that we only recommend the ideal venues, most suitable hotels and perfect service providers for your event.
