24.04.2024 from 07:00 “Bärner Wildpflanzen Märit” (Bernese Wild Plant Market)

A colourful sea of wild plants on Parliament Square: At the “Bärner Wildpflanzen Märit”, which has been around for 30 years, you’ll find over 300 different species of native wild plants.

Wild plants in lush hues of green, the hustle and bustle of the marketgoers, the Parliament Building as an impressive backdrop – every year, the Wildpflanzen Märit turns Parliament Square into a little urban jungle and brings a piece of wild nature to the heart of the city.

Fittingly, the market’s theme this year is symbiosis.  The play “Die WER sie Tät” (a play on the word “Diversität”, diversity) gives playful insight into the topics of symbiosis and biodiversity. Visitors will also get helpful tips, recommendations, and expert advice in choosing a new addition to their own garden.
