Bern Historical Museum

The Bern Historical Museum (www.bhm.ch) is one of Switzerland’s most important cultural history museums.

Its history, archaeology and ethnography collections contain around 500,000 items from the Stone Age to the present, drawn from cultures all over the planet.

The 11 permanent exhibitions display highlights from the collections. Of particular note are the sculptures from the west portal of Bern Cathedral (Münster), designs of Bern’s Old Town and the Sutz-Lattrigen lakeside stilt village of Riedstation, and archaeological finds from the stilt settlements of Twann, Seeberg-Burgäschisee, and Mörigen.
