For the 16th time, a large alpine procession will take place next fall in Plaffeien. The Alpabzug has revived a once somewhat forgotten tradition and shows appreciation to the shepherds for their tireless work throughout the summer. The cleaning and decorating of the animals is a lot of work, but the joy is all the greater when the herds are welcomed in the village by an applauding audience. The heart of this event is the village center of Plaffeien. Throughout the day, up to 1'000 animals arrive.
