04.09.2020 - 06.09.2020 Reportagen Festival Bern

A summer weekend full of true stories: From 30 August to 1 September 2019, 60 reporters from all over the world will be giving an insight into their work at 50 free events.

Bern is a city full of history and stories. That’s why the Reportagen Festival Bern, which is taking place for the very first time, is an ideal fit for the federal city. At 50 free events – from workshops, speed dates to panel discussions – reporters will provide insight into their lives, talk about the challenges they face and reveal the "stories behind their story".

The events will be held in the participants’ native languages. All events, except the speed dates, will be translated into German by interpreters.

The highlight of the festival is the presentation of the True Story Award, the first global award for reporters. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, 31 August, in the Stadttheater Bern. Actors from the Hochschule der Künste Bern will be staging the 39 nominated reports. The winning report will be presented by the internationally known actors Julia Gräfner, Christian Brückner and Ricardo Tomas Flachs Nóbrega. The event will be moderated by Susanne Wille and translated into Englisch. Tickets for this event are available here.

All information as well as the detailed program of the festival can be found on reportagenfestival.ch (only available in German).
