Bern’s Old Town gets all spruced up just in time for “Loubechehr”. Featuring entertaining programs, foodie delights and plenty of arcade charm, the Old Town’s shops and restaurants invite their guests to unwind and indulge.

In spring the shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants of Bern’s Old Town go out of their way to delight their customers. From Brunngasse and Junkernstrasse, to Kramstrasse and Herrengasse, and all the way down to Rathausgasse, visitors of all ages can enjoy, indulge and experience unique events.

Founded by four women, “Loubechehr” is seen as the spring counterpart of the beloved 1st Advent event in December, when crowds roam through the festive arcades armed with Christmas gift lists and cups of mulled wine. The “Loubechehr”, on the other hand, charms visitors with warmer temperatures and plenty of outdoor activities.

The program, which the participating businesses use to show off their best side during the annual “Loubechehr”, is redesigned each year. The arcades and vaulted cellars of the Old Town have hosted extremely diverse and creative events in the past ranging from a garden concert and introductory yoga classes to a liquid hangover breakfast.
