Gewölbekeller (Vaulted Cellar)

The traditional restaurant in Bern’s Old City is dedicated to Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and his passionate music. In the wonderfully renovated and remodelled gem, there are different rooms, various cosy nooks and an impressive vaulted cellar for events with up to 100 people (ideal: 50 seated or 100 standing up) The restaurant’s kitchen treats its guests to Italian specialities such as “Bollito misto” and an impressive selection of wines at the in-house enoteca.

“Tavolata” is the Italian word for coming together, enjoying each other’s company and sharing a laid-back meal. For the Tavolata in Verdi’s vaulted cellar, guests are served a four-course menu “all’italiana”. The whole group is seated at one long table and the food is served in various bowls and on shared plates and platters, so everyone can take whatever they feel like having.
