UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983

The Bern Old Town has majestically been ensconced on the Aare Peninsula since 1191, as the city's extraordinary medieval architecture attests to.

The world famous arcades, or Lauben as they are locally known, are ideal for meandering, leading visitors past such marvels as ornate Renaissance fountains or the city's Cathedral (Münster).

The citizens of Bern have deep respect for their city's history, which has ultimately made it possible to preserve the city's medieval treasures. As a contrast, the city also offers the most modern architecture and, of course, a convention and event infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.

Here's a great excursion for your event staff or a way to finish a long conference day: Stroll through the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
