Until 1 May 1853, traders and merchants had to pay a surcharge on their goods at the Nydegg Bridge toll booth in order to access Bern’s Old Town via the Aare. This listed building with its unique view of the city, the Aare and an exclusive terrace in the middle of BärenPark will serve as a pop-up hotel this summer: a duplex suite with two bathrooms, lounge and kitchenette with stylish, high-quality and custom-made furnishings.
The suite offers a unique place to sleep, approximately 70m2 on two levels. On the upper floor, there is a bedroom with double/twin bed, seating area and separate bathroom with a free-standing shower. The living room on the ground floor with a functional sofa bed invites you to linger and sit back and relax. The common room with a kitchenette and another bathroom complete the space. A minibar, coffee maker and safe are included, as well as a flat-screen TV. The private terrace in the middle of BärenPark offers an unforgettable view of Bern’s Old Town and the Aare.
For check-in/out, please come to the “ice workshop”. This is located in the entrance hall of the Old Tram Depot (Altes Tramdepot), next to BärenPark.
Check-in 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Check-out 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A breakfast box is provided for guests in the rooms, which includes a small, tasty breakfast with a variety of fresh local produce.
