At the heart of the distillery founded in the Matte district in 2016 stands a 150-liter boiler used to distill absinthe and dry gin. From processing the wormwood to distilling to bottling and labelling the bottles, everything is done by hand. Some of the wormwood plants even grow in Bern, with others coming from Boveresse in Val-de-Travers.
Surrounded by old sandstone walls, visitors can enjoy a pleasant game of billiards and round off the day with jazz, swing, blues, and a traditional cocktail. Hunger pangs can be sated with delicious platters of charcuterie, cheese, or various baked breads.
