Kambly Experience

In the midst of the rolling green hills of the Emmental valley, just 35 minutes from Bern, lies the quaint village of Trubschachen. Visitors immediately notice the delicious smell wafting through the village: a tell-tale sign that this is where Kambly bakes their world-famous biscuits – and they’ve been doing so since 1910.

Every Swiss person knows Kambly’s famous sweet “Bretzeli” and salty “Goldfischli”. At the “Kambly Experience” in Trubschachen, visitors can discover the origins of the family business at interactive learning stations, watch the Maîtres Confiseurs at work, and find a huge and varied selection of Kambly specialities and sweet treats at the factory shop. If you want to get creative yourself, you can book a baking class or event with the Maîtres Confiseurs. Admission to the Kambly Experience is free!

Try your hand at baking and decorating:

In Trubschachen, visitors can slip into the role of baker and Maître Confiseur. In different workshops, to be booked in advance, baking aficionados can learn how to produce hand-made treats. Group classes for up to 24 participants are a wonderful activity for families, clubs, or companies and make for a sweet and creative experience.

Special baking events for children aged 6 and over take place on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Birthday parties can also be hosted at Kambly: at the celebratory birthday table, a freshly made “Gugelhopf” (bundt cake) from the in-house bakery is served, accompanied by syrup for all the guests and a surprise present for the birthday child.

Discovery Trail

The Discovery Trail takes visitors to the prettiest spots and attractions in the Emmental town of Trubschachen, famous for its Kambly biscuits. The trail begins and ends at the Kambly Experience, open 7 days a week. Equipped with an explorer booklet and pencil and accompanied by three fun squirrels, the 3.5-kilometre tour begins. On your way to the Kambly Experience, you’ll solve child-friendly riddles and puzzles, colourfully illustrated in the booklet. If you crack the secret code, you can use it to open the explorer box at the Kambly Experience and receive a surprise reward.

    The Discovery Trail is accessible year-round. In winter, it can be a bit restricted due to weather conditions. It is suited for families with children aged 6 and over. The trail is not wheelchair accessible or pram friendly.

    There’s a barbecue pit and a playground along the way.

    The booklet can be purchased for CHF 8.00 at the start at the Kambly Experience in Trubschachen. The Kambly Experience is open from Monday to Friday 09.00 a.m.-06.00 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 09.00 a.m.-05.00 p.m.

Langnau-Trubschachen scavenger hunt

The scavenger hunt from Langnau to Trubschachen is packed with excitement and fun for the entire family. Accompanied by three adventurous little squirrels, you’ll be off on a 6-kilometre walk along the river Ilfis to search for grandmother squirrel’s nut stock. Wooden animals help you out along the way and give important hints as to where the nuts are hidden. Little riddles and puzzles have to be solved to find the correct codeword and the secret code.

Kambly Experience tour

Discover Kambly’s origins and learn where the ingredients for the popular biscuit specialities come from. The 30-kilometre e-bike round tour begins and ends in Langnau and is well signposted. Follow Route 777 through the characteristic landscape of the Emmental and enjoy the breathtaking view of the hills and valleys. The free Kambly Experience Tour app has interesting facts and insights into the world of the local producers who provide the ingredients for the famous Swiss biscuits. The tour is rounded off with a visit to the Kambly Experience in Trubschachen.
