Cross-country skiing in the Gantrisch

The Gantrisch is the epitome of a cross-country skiing paradise: a spectacular panorama with views of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Lake Thun, snow-covered forests and perfectly prepared trails await you.

As soon as the beautiful landscape of the Gantrisch Nature Park is covered with snow, it becomes a favourite destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The cantonal road (Süftenenstrasse) is closed off for this purpose. It stays this way from the beginning of December to the beginning of May.

The Langlaufzentrum Gantrisch (Gantrisch cross-country skiing centre) lies between Schwarzenbühl Selital, Ottenleuebad and Gurnigel Wasserscheide. You start at Gurnigel Wasserscheide, Berghaus, which can easily be reached by public transport or car. This is also where you can rent the necessary equipment for cross-country skiing. Trail passes can be purchased online or on site.

The trails’ current conditions, how much snow there is or whether the sun is shining can be seen live via the webcams.

The outdoor adventures don’t have to end here – there are countless other fun activities in the Gantrisch Nature Park. How about a short ski or snowboard excursion, a winter hike with alpacas through the snowy forests, or a relaxing spa day? Winter in the Gantrisch is anything but boring!
