Cross-Country Skiing in the Gantrisch Region

A stone’s throw from Bern, the cross-country skiing center in the Nature Park Gantrisch provides over 45 km of perfectly groomed cross-country trails at an elevation of 1,450 to 1,650 m above sea level.

The Gantrisch region is fantastic for cross-country skiing. A spectacular panorama awaits, with snowy forests, perfectly primed runs (“loipen”), and a view of Lake Thun and the famous mountain trio Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Just a stone’s throw from the city of Bern, the Langlaufzentrum Gantrisch (Gantrisch cross-country skiing centre) makes sure the 45 kilometres of trails are primed and ready each season. At 1,450-1,650 metres above sea level, an altitude with guaranteed snow, you’ll encounter a slice of cross-country skiing heaven.

There are main trails as well as side trails. The main entry points are Schwarzenbühl Selital, Ottenleuebad, and Gurnigel Wasserscheide. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own equipment: there are three places in the area where you can rent everything you need. You can also take cross-country skiing lessons in the Gantrisch region.

The trails’ current conditions, how much snow there is or whether the sun is shining can be seen live via the webcam.
