CAMERATA BERN stands for constantly breaking new ground and exploring boundaries with plenty of curiosity and passion for playing. Founded in 1962, it is now an internationally renowned and sought-after chamber orchestra whose fifteen members are all also outstanding soloists. They always play standing up and without a conductor.

Its innovative programmes play with eras and styles – from baroque to modern, from staged concerts to chamber music projects and children's concerts. Rooted in Bern with its own concert series, it also regularly performs at international festivals and in leading concert halls in Switzerland, Europe, North and South America and Asia.

It collaborates with renowned artists such as Steven Isserlis, Anna Prohaska, Sol Gabetta, Pekka Kuusisto, Antje Weithaas, Kristian Bezuidenhout and Sergio Azzolini. Since 2018, violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja has been the ensemble’s artistic partner.
