Ballenberg - Swiss Open-Air Museum

Discover Switzerland in a day on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage. At the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum there are over 100 original, centuries-old Swiss houses and farms to see. Travel back hundreds of years in time and experience how people lived and worked in earlier days.

At the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum groups can get a really close feel. The tours provide an in-depth insight and highlight themes in detail – life in the Alps for example, natural healing powers, or wedding, birth and death ceremonies.

In the active programmes the guests roll up their sleeves: join in the workshop, bake bread, mix herb teas or take over the kitchen completely and cook at the wood-burnig stove.
