The Parliament Building (Bundeshaus) is the seat of the Swiss government and parliament.

    Tours are available in German, French, Italian or English.

    Usually as follows:
    Monday to Friday at 9.30 am, 10.30 am, 2 pm and 4 pm.
    Saturday at 10.30am and 4pm.

    Tours are available for groups of between 10 to a maximum of 40 people and should preferably be booked six months in advance.

The Parliament Building in Bern is not simply the seat of the Swiss Parliament, it is also an outstanding symbol of politics in Switzerland. It was built by Hans Wilhelm Auer and inaugurated in 1902.

Free guided tours are available when Parliament is not in session. Visitors will see the focal points of the building such as the domed hall, both debating chambers (Council of States and National Council) and the lobby (‘Wandelhalle’). In addition, visitors will be given some information on the history of the Federal Palace and on the workings of Parliament.

When parliament is sitting, visitors can follow the debates of the federal chambers from the public galleries. Groups may even organise a meeting with a member of their choice.
