It's well worth taking a detour from Lake Brienz on the Brienz–Rothorn tourist rack railway, visiting the Ballenberg Open Air Museum or the Grandhotel Giessbach. From Lake Thun we recommend a guided tour through the St. Beatus Caves or a trip up the Niederhorn followed by a fast-paced trip down into valley on a micro-scooter.
