Breakfast at Falafingo

If you’ve come down with a case of wanderlust, this is the place for you: going to Falafingo is like going on vacation. Any guest walking in in a rainy mood is sure to leave with sunshine in their heart!

This vibrant kiosk brings a touch of Turkey to the Lorraine neighbourhood – its rustic wooden furniture, hand-painted walls, and cozy seating areas with lots of cushions will transport you to faraway lands. Little colourful bowls contain Anatolian delicacies such as sucuk (Turkish sausage), olives, humus, honey with kaymak (Turkish mascarpone), simit (Turkish bread with sesame), and fruit. Or you can go for the traditional peasant’s breakfast, Menemen, lovingly prepared with tomatoes, peppers, sucuk, and egg. The food is accompanied by cup after cup of Turkish tea. If you want to linger for a bit after the hearty breakfast, you can lean back into the comfy, colourful cushions and play a game of Tavla or listen to the Turkish music and watch the hustle and bustle of the Lorraine neighbourhood.
