Zoological Garden Dählhölzli

The Zoological Garden Dählhölzli with its 200 different animal species is open to be explored by visitors 365 days a year. The unique riverside landscape is ideal for observing wild animals in their natural habitats.

The zoo is nestled between the Aare river and Dählhölzli Forest. The variety of species includes exotic animals, such as the basilisk lizard (basiliskus plumifrons) in the tropical vivarium, free-flying butterflies and fire weavers, and European animals, such as fish otters, musk oxen, lynx, wolves, elk, reindeer and ibis.

Most areas of the zoo can be explored free of charge. Admission is charged for the vivarium and adjoining outdoor area only. All paths are wheelchair accessible.
